It seems that HD flash videos from YouTube are running a little more smooth.. not silk smooth but better than before. Can anyone else confirm this? This video always gave me problems:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zvCUmeoHpw

About the "top sites" feature. Let's say that you have "large" selected. I'm assuming that it only loads those 6 top sites and not any more, is that right?

Can someone give me the keyboard shortcut to switch between tabs?

    Thanks! :)

Just downloaded it but haven't had enough time to say if its better than beta. Tabs look a hair different but that's about it so far.

I just downloaded it and can say it is definitely faster than 3.0 was. I just went on YouTube and didn't experience any freezing at all, a plus for me as I was also having some problems on that line.

My question would be: is it secure? I've been using FF, but if Safari 4.0 has the same security features (for that matter, is any browser really secure???), then I could make the switch; for speed if nothing else.

it is a lot better, now we can add a button to open a new tab, the tabs are not on the far top of the window, alt+` switches between windows in the browser and it seems to be much more stable

That YouTube video stutters for me on the final version as well. Not a problem in Firefox. Flash is why I quit using Safari in the first place, so I was hoping they would fix this.

To be honest, I miss having the tabs at the very top of the window. Having a separate tab bar displays only redundant information and takes away vertical resolution, which is at a premium with widescreen computers. I actually was trying to find a Firefox extension to get this performance the other day to no avail.

They claim 50% quicker speeds in Java but I don't see this to be true my Scottrade screen ticker still takes forever to open up on my Macbook Pro. :(

I've been using Safari 4 since early Betas and its a good browser. On OSX its really good, on Windows... well.. its ok on Windows, but not as good as OSX... more buggy, and a stupid set up to be more like IE, and less options.

on the below picture... if thats what you mean, its called Top Sites. Look at that picture at the top of the window where there is the backwards and forward buttons. under that is a book button that opens up your bookmarks, and next to it is a button that looks like black dots, that is Top Sites....

The Following are the interface changes in Safari 4.

Safari 4 includes some user interface changes:
The Cancel and Reload buttons have moved.
The progress bar becomes a progress indicator at the right side of the Address field.
The Address field includes "Top Hit" suggestions.
The Snapback button is available only from the Search field.
The Open In Dashboard button is no longer in the toolbar by default.
Safari 4 tab behavior has not changed from Safari 3 even though Safari 4 beta had "Tabs On Top."
Safari 4 includes a new feature called "Top Sites."
The Top Sites feature may not be visible on computers with older video cards.
Safari 4 includes Cover Flow view for history and bookmarks.
Cover Flow may not be visible on computers with older video cards.
Safari 4 includes a search suggestions feature in the Search field.
The search field in Safari 4 for Mac OS X still uses only Google.
The search field in Safari 4 for Windows allows users to switch between Yahoo and Google.
