    Hey guys,

Is there any way of forcing safari to use HTML5 for all flash videos, apart from switching the user-agent to ipad? When I say flash videos Im not only referring to youtube but pretty much every possible flash video there is on the net.

thats not something you can convert on the fly in a web browser, it has to be done by the website with the videos.

If it for youtube, you can try the HTML5 trial here:

    www.youtube.com/HTML5

This will load most videos in HTML5. However videos with ads will still play using flash. It will tell you under a video if its playing a HTML5 version or not.

I also use 'ClicktoFlash'. This stops all Flash content from loading until you click on it. Works great and has increased my battery life a hell of a lot!

Thanks for the reply mate. I use click to flash as well. I was already using the youtube html5 trial and like you said some actually play in flash. SO i got ahold of an extension called youtube5 which actually forces pretty much every video to play on html5. Not sure if it works on those with commercial's though

I also experience a small lag but nothing significant i'd say. i tried the user agent setting. But the annoying thing is i Have to set it to the ipad option every time i view a webpage with flash content so that i can view it on html5. do you know if there is anyway to set the ipad version as default?
