I was reading this blog and it got me wondering.. is it possible to install an SSD drive on a macbook?
And talking about faster harddrives... How come on Apple store the macbook HDD configuration is only available at 5400 RPM? Is it because the macbook (including the original 1.86) can't handle 7200 RPM?
btw, its not like i'm going to buy an SSD drive. I'm just wondering.

Yes, of course. You can install any HDD (SSD, 5400, 7200rpm...) into a macbook as long as it is a standard notebook SATA drive.

Aslong as the ssd was the right size sure you could install it.

Macbooks use 2.5" drives. Of course, you can use 1.8" HDD with an adapter bay but it's not a good idea.
