So today at school I was doing some work and decided that, since my macbook pro's battery was at 100% charge, to drain the hell out of it just for kicks. I also kept track exactly how long it lasted.
As soon as it reached 0% I assumed it would turn off, but surprisingly it didnt for a while. I timed it and it ran on 0% for 19 minutes before finally dying. So, with screen at half brightness, websurfing, checking nbr, the occasional youtube video, my total usage time was from 11:49 am and it hit 0% at 3:23 pm. Tack on an additional 19 minutes for 0%, thats abot 3 hours and 40 minutes run time. My battery has 87 cycles under its belt and according to istat, is at 94% health. Im impressed.
Thoughts?
EDIT: I got the warning msg at 6% , but ignored it. When it went to sleep I pressed some keys and it turned back on then I ran it down.

This happens when your battery isn't calibrated. There was a pretty long thread about it in the News section a while ago.

yeah paul is right. it happens when the battery thinks its worn, when it really isnt.
