I have some graphics problems that occur immediatly in windows on my Macbook.
The external display also goes black a couple of seconds when my iPhone is connected to the MB and recieves calls or sms.
I have reinstalled both Leopard and windows twice.
    The problems are still there..

Now, before I take it to my service center I have one last thing I could try.

I wonder if I can switch the harddrive in my Macbook and put it into my friends Macbook and see if my problems occur on his computer.
Im running Leopard 10.5.2 and Windows XP Professional SP2 in bootcamp

My Macbook has the following components:
    Late nov 2007 spec.
    2,2GHz Core 2 Duo
    2GB Ram
    120GB harddrive
    Superdrive
    X3100 Graphics

And my friends Macbook which I wanna test my harddrive in:
    2006 spec (Don't know exactly)
    1,83GHz Core Duo
    1GB Ram
    60GB Harddrive
    Combo CD/DVD
    GMA950 Graphics

Will it work? Will it kernel panic or something?
    Thanks for your input.

It should work just fine as an up to date installation of OS X has all the necessary drivers for any Mac with which it is compatible.

You should be able to, as leopard should include the drivers for all his/her hardware. You might want to wait for someone to confirm that it should actually work, but I really dont see why it wouldnt. And heres how you do it- Turn the MB off and take out the battery. You will see a metal L bracket with 3 small screws in it (on the long part of the L). loosen those screws, and if you take them completely out of the bracket make sure not to loose them. Now to the left side of the computer is the hard drive. There is a white tab, pull that and the hard drive will come out. Then just put it in the other MB and I think you can get how to put it all back together.

Thanks, I know how to install the harddrive in the other computer.
I just need someone to confirm it will work since I don't want to reinstall the OS afterwards.

1st, doesn't sound like a hard drive issue.

2nd, you might be able to swing that in OSX, but windows most likely will not boot.

honestly, it sounds like a software issue... apple definitely will not help you resolve your windows issue. and it might just be an OSX bug that your external display turns off for a few seconds when your iphone receives a call...

can someone else confirm this behavior?

what kind of graphical problems are we talking about in windows?

    The graphics problem:
When running a game, parts of the game gets cut up into small pieces and flickers in different spots of the screen, text loses some letters and such.
When I tried the game in windows just now, it actually seemed to work quite fine.
But very often the problems above happen.

    The screen going black:
Before I reinstalled Leopard, I had alot of problems with the screen going black when my iphone wasn't even connected, it was enough just going onto a heavy flash homepage and the screen started going black and then coming back after a second several times.
It disappeared by itself completely after a couple of days.
When I recently reinstalled Leopard to see if that could sort the graphics problem in windows out, the screen going black issue came back again, but only when connecting the iphone and having it connected.
It doesn't happen on the Macbooks display, only on the external one.

I thought it would be a hardware issue when the problems still were there after reinstalling both windows and Leopard, but when I ran the game just now it ran fine for the first time, even though just previously today it didn't.

So I actually don't know what to do since the problems still shows up occasionally after reinstalling both operating systems..

Edit: Solved the annoying gfx problem. After a manual installation of both chipset drivers and graphics drivers from intel.com it seems to work much better in windows.
I did update the driver earlier too but apparently it works now.

Still have the problem with the iphone though. Gonna start a new thread because it has little relevance to the main topic of this thread.
