This is one of the strangest (I am being polite) things I have ever read on the internet. I`ve had a pile of unibody Macs in my house at one point or another and they are nothing like what you describe.

Apple uses forged (to get consistent grain) than CNCed aluminum. They finish it with anodizing to eliminate the reactive properties.

There isn`t a better fab process for a notebook chassis on the market right now. Anyone who claims different is choosing to stay ignorant.

The SB Macbook Pro 13 will only be hot if they use Nvidia GPU's :D

HDMI.. blah.. no big deal.. not like its hard to have a tiny little adapter. DisplayPort is actually better than HDMI for graphics, so I doubt they'll downgrade to HDMI.... as some of the bigger resolutions cannot run through HDMI.

second button? oh I hope not, that would be awful, its great as it is right now. You can still right and left click just fine with no buttons.

Edit for simplicity, since you're new to the internet apparently (NBR does a good job of sheltering people, my comment is strange? Hah.):
And yet they still bend easily, regardless of everything you posted above. This is a fact, one that may not be universally true for all ubMBP's, but certainly a decent percentage. All it takes is a Google and an open mind.

"Anyone who claims different is choosing to stay ignorant."
    I can do fallacies too.

I've had 3 Uni Macbook Pro's, two 13" and a 17". None of them had an hint of weakness or bending when picked up. The people who say they bend easy, are too rough on their Macbooks.

    Apple - Support - Discussions - Bent my macbook :( ...
Apple - Support - Discussions - Macbook Pro 15 Unibody bent screen ...
MacBook Pro - Bent Unibody - Gap between body and display normal? (Pics) - Mac-Forums.com

Maybe they are rough on their machines, but from their posts (aside from the one that dropped theirs), they don't provide information to the contrary.
Also note that the guy that bent his over the ports picked it up with one hand over the ports.

Also, I tried bending a MBP at Best Buy. I couldn't do it with the 13" but the 17" already had slight dents on it over the speaker grille and ports anyways.

    Ok,

    1. link is for someone who dropped their Macbook.

    1. link is for someone who put to much pressure over the ethernet port, where the metal isn't thick.

    2. links are for maybe damaged by user, not much info.

Thats hardly any evidence that the Uni Macbooks bend easy.

They're all evidence that they bend easily. The fact is the only information you can get aside from user experience is Apple touting the unibody design, which is a good design none-the-less. There have been no scientific or controlled tests, so all you have to go by is user experience.

Really??? So when you drop say your Asus G73 out of your car, it wont even make a scratch? Right? Just about any laptop dropped from a car will be dented or cracked. Thats just common sense.

    With a case? Depends.
It did pretty well with a 15 foot drop with no case, but the screen cracked.
I don't think anyone aside from the people on YouTube that did it would know, I've never read about anyone dropping their G73.
(I'm alluding to a video on YouTube called Asus Destruction where a group of hoodlums throw a G73 up in the air and drive over it. It's been on this site and removed several times, so I won't link it)

And that's neither here nor there. This wasn't about plastic vs. aluminum. And most plastic laptops won't be bent from a drop or dented. If it's low grade plastic it will crack, but plastic cases are far easier to replace than a MBP case.

Also, no G73 has never been reported to bend and stay disfigured over any of the ports.

You're driving the whole thing off-track. I never said that plastic was better than aluminum or vice-versa (even though I do favor plastic more). Both have their goods and bads. OF COURSE.
Stop arguing pointlessly. I'm delivering other people's issues to support my statement, you're just arguing for the sake of arguing.

Yes, I get that you've never bent your MBP. That's great.
Other people have. Whether they were too rough or what, that is something we can't tell for sure. Facts are facts.

He had it in a sleeve, I'm posting pictures so you can get an idea of the wonderful protection this Macbook had:

Thats NOT a case, its a sleeve, to protest it from basically only scratches. I've dropped my Macbook and Sony Vaio, in my padded backpack, from 2 feet no issues.

Um, that is 100% irrelevant, both materials are damaged by drops.

Your statements are irrelevant. The discussion wasn't about plastic vs. aluminum.

And that's a sleeve similar to what I have.

Oh, and "No G73 has *ever* been reported" is correct, not never. My bad.

And it still isn't about plastic Vs. Aluminum.

    Let me restate what you have posted;

Because a Macbook was dropped from 3+ feet and dented that makes it weak.

What I am saying is, any laptop dropped from 3+ feet will be damaged.

Hope this clears up your confusion.

You apparently don't understand my point. Please go back several pages and re-read.

I'm saying that aluminum is a poor material to use because it has the ability to bend far easier than it should. Whether you've bent it or not, it's still a FACT that people have bent theirs by just picking it up the wrong way.

I'm not saying it's weak because it bent from a 3 foot drop. I'm saying it's weak because it's aluminum and by nature it's weak, moreso than liquidmetal, titanium, magnesium, and other alloys that are used in notebook construction.

I didn't say Macbooks are bad. I didn't say the design isn't good. I made no mention of the Unibody design. There really is no reason you should have made this argument go this far. Everything you've posted has just been to argue. You haven't supported yourself at all, mostly because you don't need to since your argument is pointless. You're basically arguing that no-one has ever damaged their MBP outside of their own clumsyness, when I've linked a post about how it was damaged by picking it up. Unless you can prove he was lieing and the other people in that thread with the same problem were lieing, you have no way to argue that without just seeming like a troll.

Only 2 of the links you posted were relevant. Aluminum, while not as strong as liquid metal, is by no means weak. Why are you taking a couple links and trying to say aluminum is weak, thats just plain stupid.

We can pull up links all day to any laptop, where a few people say its weak or built poor. The fact remains, 99.999999999999999999999999999999999% of Uni Macbook owner have never experience a weak case.

I never said that, yous said Macbooks were bad, I have no idea why your posting that.

    99%?
Where do you get that statistic?

Aluminum is weak in a relative sense. You're just grasping at straws. For the sake of this thread, just stop.
This whole thing started and ended several pages ago and wouldn't have been brought back up if it weren't for the other guy that said my post was "strange". You had no reason to jump in, at all, and you didn't prove anything to the contrary. You literally brought nothing to this thread.
