    Hello,

I am interested in purchasing the new macbook. I wanted to upgrade the RAM to 4gb online, but I recently heard that I could not return it since it was customized. Is this true and does this also take affect if the macbook is faulty?

Customized orders are not returnable. If it's found to be defective, it will be replaced with the same configuration.

The prices manufacturers charge for RAM is literally extortion. Buy the minimum configurable amount, then buy and install the upgrade yourself. You'll save a lot of money.

Stotic, there is an apple/mac memory tab within that website.. take a look up top at where it says apple and go through it. There is a decent selection there. I think the savings after taxes depending where you're living and how you're shipping the ram to yourself is a savings of $40 or so, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

My corporate discount lists the RAM upgrade as $140. The $15 price differential will only save me a few dollars when I factor in shipping for the ram

Also, can I use the corporate discount in the store (i know you can't customize configs in the store however)

I am not sure, but I do know that retail electronics stores don't give educational discounts or anything like that, so chances are they won't give you a corporate one in-store. Best way to be sure is to call the store. :)
