Is there a way to return to the OS X desktop when I play a full screen game or something on my Mac without having to exit the game?
All the F keys seem to be either disabled or used for something else during gameplay so expose and Alt+Tab etc. don't work.

Alt - Tab works for me for some games. Other times it doesn't. I guess it depends on the game. Try Command - M. That may minimize the window. Just out of curiosity, what game(s) is it that you're trying to minimize?

    Sweet, Cmd+M worked very nicely!

The games I'm trying to minimize are: Diablo II LoD, Warcraft 3 TFT and Enigmo 2. Those are the only games I have for Mac.

Hey, you can get D2 LOD to play in full screen? Mine gets all messed up and I have to play it in windowed mode.
I also can't get the scroll bar to work on my MS mouse.
Seems I'm not the only one who has been feeling old school :-D

How do you get it to play in Window mode? I can't get mine to do that. (i.e. Cmd - M doesn't work) To play it full screen though, go to the video options before starting the game, and select...er...the worse video setting. (The one with the least colours, i forgot the name) That should make it work.

hey let me hijack this thread... macbooks lack del/ins keys, so I can't rotate rotate the screen in Warcraft3. Also, no F13 key, so no screenshot. Anyone knows a way out?

Just select Software mode in the Video Settings. Because D2 is a Carbon application, and OS X is Cocoa, it has no 3D acceleration support.

Have you tried Cmd+Shift+3? I don't know if that would work or not, but I think it's worth a try. You could also edit the War3 keys configuration, a short tutorial can be found in CustomKeyInfo.txt in your Warcraft3 folder.

Don't post useless spam in the Apple forum please. Especially in my topics.

Yep, I tried but the resulting png was quite weird, lacking a lot of visual elements from the game (hard to explain). Also, I read the CustomKeyInfo.txt file but I didn't find a section on game commands per se such as rotating the screen or accessing menu items, only hotkeys to build/actions etc. It may be possible but I'm not quite sure.

Here is the screenshot I was talking about:

OTOH, I tried again and some screenshots actually ended up right. Weird. Still, it would be nice if I could remap the keys.
