Just this morning there was a good deal on a black 2.0Ghz macbook, and tonight it was gone. How often do these deals show up and dissappear? Is it an hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly thing?

Often daily, just keep checking the refurb section. I'm not sure when they post them up.. but I've noticed that the selection is often picked over by 10am EST. I haven't looked in a long time though, since I have mine already. Mine was "refreshed" which carries a 10% discount direct from a brick'n'morter apple store.

Usually daily as Jimy said, but you gotta jump on it when you see it, they don't usually last very long.

Just go to store.apple.com, and in the menu bar on the left, at the very bottom, you'll see refurbished macs. Or just search for the word "ref" on the page.

    Yeah, not many right now.

Now if someone can answer i'll be ever greatful. Right now, a refurbished black macbook (2.0 Ghz) with 1gig ram, 120GB HDD is on sale for $1299. Is that the lowest these things will ever get, or is there a chance that if I wait enough I can find one for $1199 or $1099?

I know bumping is generally frowned upon, and I apologize, but I need to make a decision soon (read comment above), so .... *bump*

I doubt it will go any lower than that until a new macbook is released.

Refurb prices never change. And Apple restocks the refurb store pretty regularly. I watched it for a week and I saw that they had new items on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. If you want to buy a refurb laptop, you need to check the Apple Store around 7-8AM EST. MacBook Pros go much faster that MacBooks, just as a general reference.

I got a refurb MacBook Pro about 2 weeks ago and the only difference I could tell between mine and a new retail system was the box that it came in. Everything else was flawless. Well worth the money spent on it. :D
