    Specs:

2.2ghz Processor Intel Core 2 Duo
    1gb. of Ram
    160gb. Hdd
    Superdrive

I know that there are new chips coming out soon, but I dont care. My question is How is the Quality on these Refurb Blackbooks? Will I get any scratches, dents, or defects? Will it have discoloration?

And good will this laptop preform with these specs? (I will use it for Music, Photos, Video, iWeb, and the iPhone SDK.

It should be like new. When i bought my white macbook from the refurb section of apple, it arrived without the fancy box. But the laptop looked brand new, no scratches or anything.

It should be just like new. I got my (white) macbook refurb. I love it. And if there is anything wrong with it, you should have no problems getting it replaced/fixed.

Is the battery new also? I take it the harddrive is properly erased and OSX factory installed? Those are important things for me, before I'd consider a refurb.

Apple is known for their excellent refurb products. A friend of mine just got a white Macbook and it's in great condition.

People actually say refurbs are in fact better than brand new - off the presses, because they actually assign technicians to deal with whatever issues the products had, individually.

So it's like double quality check.

And of course, refurb is relative, because when I bought my Macbook Pro in an Apple Store, a woman right in front of me returned a Black Macbook because "she felt there's not enough color in the screen". Of course the screen was just fine, I saw it myself, but people just like to complain nowadays. And that Macbook went to refurbishment.

So yeah, the quality is excellent, and with those specs you shouldn't have any issues with movies, music, the SDK etc.
