    Hi!

My fan recently died in my macbook (early 2008, probably a penryn right?) and i decided to replace it myself.
I ordered a fan that was stated it would fit all macbook's except the macbook with unibody.
It was shipped from the US and i live in Sweden so it took a while. I recieved it today and lo and behold, it does not fit.
I've opened up a dispute with the seller but i need to fix my laptop asap so i need to get another fan somewhere.
I will probably be buying from ebay since it's cheaper, but this time i want to be certain i get the right part.

I wanted to ask if i can identify what fan i want and don't just go by the description of the item (since that fooled me once)?

What i can see on my fan it says:
    "2008/06/23 WS"
    "80623DTA"
Thats on the sticker to the right.

On the "fan" itself it says:
    "DC BRUSHLESS"
    "MODEL KSB0505HB"
    "8623W8R"

Looking at ifixit.com's website i can't identify any of these numbers anywhere.
    MacBook Santa Rosa/Penryn Fan (922-8273) - iFixit
There it says "Apple Part #: 922-8273".
Is there any documentation on apples website where i can check so i can verify it once i decide to order? I don't want to get the wrong (smaller) one again.

    [EDITING FOR PIC]

Sorry, don't know how to resize it to fit to the forum.
You can see that the alleged replacement is smaller than the one fitted in my macbook.
Pisses me off that they stated that it was the same size and that it would fit my macbook just fine. Will be hell to get a refund and send it back to the US.

Yeah that was what i thought, seeing as it's the only number that pops up when searching.

Do you know if it would matter if i get one that stated to fit macbook or if it would be fine to get one that says i.e for HP?
Looking at the design on the ones that pops up they look all the same.
Preferably i'd like a non refurbished one (i'd like it as new as possible) but that doesn't seem to be available.

I guess it probably wont matter if you get one described as a macbook or HP fan, but maybe ask the seller for some measurements just to be sure.
