If one has the new Macbook Pros that recognizes 8 GB of RAM and installed Windows 7 which only recognizes 4 GB of RAM would the computer automatically allocate 4 GB of RAM MAC OS and 4 GB to Windows 7 32 Bit?

Would it be better to install the 32 bit or 64 bit using Parallels if one wanted to allocate 4 GB of RA to each?

First of all, there's no good reason to allocate 4 GB of RAM to a virtual machine. Just what are you planning to use it for?

Secondly, Parallels is a userland program and can only use whatever memory Mac OS gives it.

Finally, you control how much memory the virtual machine gets. You can give it as little or as much as you want, though obviously giving more than 4 GB to a 32-bit version of Windows is just dumb.
