does any1 have it? i'm on windows, and i was trying to convert some movies, but it cant play any of the divx movies i have. and when i Download the dixv codec, it doesnt seem to apply it to quicktime. does any1 have quicktime pro for mac with divx? when you convert to that h.264 format, does it look just as good or better when you export from quicktime? thanks.

VLC doesn't convert video formats. It just plays them all. Try Xilisoft Video Converter (for Mac & Windows) for easy, high-quality video conversions.

I think XviD decoder QT extension can play DivX.Try it

    QT extension for XviD format.

If you want to convert movies to H.264 ,then try iSquint 1.5.2

yea, i know it can on the mac version.
i have windows, and although it directs me to apple's site to get the codecs, i can install divx and Xvid all i want, and they still wont play in quicktime.

Sorry I misread the first line.

Select Avi from MIME settings (Video section)

for windows, you already got your recommended program.

for mac, i recommend visual hub for converting videos. (of course, you are on pc... use xiisoft or whatever)

i would recommend NOT using quicktime for video conversion regardless of whether you are in osx or windows...

quicktime doesn't even handle divx for playback i think? i have perian to solve that problem on the mac, but i would NEVER use quicktime for conversion... the quality vs encode time isn't that great even for supported formats.
