Is it just me, or is there no simple way of setting the preferences to have VLC as my default media player? I want to associate VLC as the default player, but I can find no way of doing it, other than per file (Get Info, Open With). Unless I'm losing my mind, I am not seeing any selection where I can set "Change All" filetypes...
