Not from Apple. You might be able to upgrade from some independent repair shop. Note that doing so will void your warranty.

I believe the processors are soldered onto the motherboard ( oops sorry, logic board  ), so it wouldn't be possible in this case.

Upgrading to a faster hard drive or SSD if that floats your boat, is money better spent. Unless you plan on running your MBP CPU 24/7 at 100%, bumping from 2.8GHz to 3GHz has little if any marginal value.

Thanks for the answers! I am wondering if there are any places that actually can upgrade the cpu from like 2.8ghz to maybe 3.5ish in the future. (Maybe in 2-3 years.) And for the graphics card, will that be upgradable? Thanks.

Again, the processor is soldered to the logic board. You cannot upgrade without replacing the logic board, and no, the video card is not upgradeable. Notebooks are not like desktops, 98% of the time you cannot upgrade the graphics card.

Upgrading the CPU need the support the logic board support. You can not put a random CPU on the motherboard. It need the architecture support.

Absolutely agree, the buff from RAM and HD is much much better unless you are doing a lot of scientific calculations or CPU intensive video rendering work.

Apple computers aren't really made to be tinkered with in this fashion. You would be suprised how long a simple 2.8 ghz will last you unless you are doing CPU intensive work.

If you need a system with upgrade potential, you should consider a mac pro or a PC. If it HAS to be a CPU upgradeable laptop, then you are out of luck with Apple.

The main difference between core 2 of today and the mobile cpus next year, are not performance, but the power efficiency. From the non-removable battery expect your laptop to be mobility impaired in two years, while other notebooks have 12 hour battery time.
