Ok, I bought the Macbook Pro 13" on March 21st, couldn't wait for the refresh.

Now my question is, how do I connect to the external monitors, as in which Mini Displayport do I need to buy? I see a lot of displayports at Fry's for under $20 for Mac but don't know which part number exactly do I need for my MBP.

Another question is, I might want to get the Mini Displayport to DVI. Would DVI to HDMI work from the Apple Mini Displayport? Would DVI to VGA work from the Apple Mini Displayport also? I have alot of DVI to VGA/HDMI adapters so I was wondering would it work if I just bought the Mini Displayport to DVI.

    I *think* (pretty sure)

that if you want to get VGA out of the miniDP, you need a miniDP -> VGA adapter.

You can get each adapter for about $10 on eBay, so I would just get one miniDP -> VGA (I don't think this works with the others in this particular case) and one miniDP -> HDMI or DVI (these can definitely be adapted between HDMI / DVI)

The Apple MiniDP to DVI is a DVI-D type connector not a DVI-I (DVI-I has 4 pins around that long horizontal pin these pins carry the analog signal DVI-D does not have these pins), It does not have analog out so a VGA adapter won't work. DVI-D to HDMI would work, as they are both digital.

I'm pretty sure Apple makes the DVI adapter DVI-D so you have to buy a MiniDP-VGA adapter.

Okay, if you want to have VGA out you will need a Mini DP to VGA adapter. If you want DVI and HDMI, you can get just the DVI adapter and use a DVI to HDMI adapter or cable. Also just in case, the Mini DP - VGA can not do DVI or HDMI.

meh.. guess I'll just get DVI since most of my TV/monitors uses DVI/HDMI anyways :(.. Just that having VGA would be a bonus.

for HDMI, its nicer to just get an adapter that goes directly to HDMI. Theres some nice ones that you plug into the mini-DP port and into a USB plug and you get full audio and video into the HDMI
