I am still having my wireless disconnect problem while on battery and I just had a thought and wanted to bounce it off on you guys. Do you think I could train the robot to automatically reconnect my network every 30 seconds or so and have it run continuously in the background when I'm on battery power? The network is great when it's connected, but it's getting tiring to constantly monitor and reconnect the wireless signal when I'm websurfing on the couch.

Any thoughts on this? Has anyone tried it? Can anyone tell me how to program the robot?

    Thanks!

Have you called Apple on this yet?

It might be a defective card which they can replace, you shouldn't have to go through that kind of hassle.

Hmm. That's a thought. I'm used to getting really poor customer service, so to be honest, calling Apple didn't even cross my mind.

It's mildly annoying. At least I have a computer that works... :)

Apple has very good customer service. I think they will be able to take care of you.

Two things you should try first though. One, try using another account. You should always have another account that you never use, one that is untouched, this is a good way to diagnose OS X issues. If it works there, then there is a preferences issue which is easy to fix. Second, be sure you have the most up to date software. Run the software update tool to be positive.

If neither of those turn anything up try changing the channel your router is on. This can solve issues with cordless phones, cell phones and other routers in the area. If none of that does the trick call Apple.

cashmonee: thanks for the great heads up. I will try all your suggestions before I get on the phone. I did set up my Mac with a separate account for me to use aside from the Administrator one. I will try using the Administrator one to see if it fixes the issue or not, and I will try the router channel switch. I know my SW is updated - I just did that today.

    I appreciate your input!

Yes, do call Apple. From what I gather from the Apple forums these are indeed defective wifi modules/logicboards that cause the frequent disconnects.

If you do end up calling Apple, please tell us of your experience. It will show users who are browsing through this part of the forum, an idea of it all, especially for those who want to switch but are still iffy on it. :)

My cats name is Tux, he wearing a Tux, but that wasn't the only reason why I gave him that name, I also give it to him to honor Tux the penguin (even know its just a mascot) But yeah, his face looks pretty much like that avatars face all the time.
