I've heard from some friends who own the Macbook, that the case tends to crack, I was just wondering if that was a major problem? I was thinking if it was that i could get a Powerbook G4 maxed out, not sure if it would perform well though. My budget is around 1400 bucks, but i just want to know if getting a macbook over a powerbook g4 is worth it

I'd go with the MacBook personally, because even if you max out the G4, it'll never come close to the MacBook's max specs.

If your budget is that high though, toss on another $50 and get a new (refurbished) MacBook Pro straight from Apple.

I've had my MacBook for about 9 months now...and I consider myself a typical user in terms of how I treat and use my notebook. No cracks :).

I would go for the MacBook as well. I just think its the better one to go with for the newer technology and stuff :).
