I have an extra set of memory that was swapped out of my alienware (4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz). Could anyone tell me if I could swap them into my wife's MacBook? I know it won't get 1600MHz, I just want to know if they will fit and work ok.

Doesn't the Core 2 Duo MB run on DDR2 memory? If so then it will not work at all. Just take out one stick from each and compare the pins, if they match, it will work, else it will not.

An easier way would have been to go & click the apple icon on the top of the screen and then select 'About this Mac'. It tells you the memory type and size right there.
