    Question about Macbook Pro Video RAM

    I am wondering if, when switched to dedicated graphics, do the dedicated and integrated graphics work side-by-side together.

    I kind of got this impression since one reseller listed the VRAM on the Pros as being 512 and 768, respectively.

    If I remember right you can change between the two but it requires a reboot. Correct me if i'm wrong but you don't run both together.

    it's not possible on the current firmware. perhaps he meant that the 9600m gt supports turbo cache.

    Nope. What you are referring to is hybrid-SLI and it is not available on the MacBook Pro.

    The 9400m + 9600m implementation is very awful. There are other notebooks out there that can seamlessly switch between the two without requiring a log out and/or run them both together for increased performance. A firmware update MIGHT address the issue.
