I just got a Macbook Pro yesterday as my first laptop and I just want to start out by saying I absolutely love it.

One thing I have a quick question about is the lid, when I close it the rubber stops on the corners of the lid don't touch the palm rests. If I put even a tiny bit of pressure they touch but this doesn't seem quite right... Does anybody else's MBP seem to have this problem?

It's not really a big deal at all I was just curious.

    Thanks!

Mine don't touch either. It hasn't bothered me because it hasn't caused a problem and I've had my MBP for several months now. I wouldn't worry about it, but continue to watch and make sure the gap doesn't widen.

It is the same for me. I wouldnt call it a problem. The hooks lock the lid closed and the pads only make sure the metal of the lid does not press on the metal of the body when pressure is applied.

its a design flaw. they all have it. its not going to break or get worse or cause damage- even in the long term or anything.

    so there you go.
