    Question about Apple's warranty

    My ipad didn't power on yesterday, I believed it was hardware issue so I called apple.
    The guy told me I will be charged for 30 next call..
    It was fixed through the phone. He told me it was multitasking shut the ipad down.

    So, my question is, does all apple product only come with Hardware warranty but no support?
    That mean I have to pay $30 every time I contact apple, will I?

    It scared me a bit, I probably won't buy any product in future if I have to purchase their additional warranty. :( :(

    you can get support through a scheduled appointment at an apple store.

    But.. the closet apple store is 20 miles away....

    So I have to do 4 trips for an apple product in order to repair?
    Doesn't sound good to me, compare to HP/Dell/Lenovo, they all have free phone support or online chat.

    Pretty sure you can mail in Apple products too.

    You get 90 days of phone support, I think.

    Yup, Apple phone support is inferior to the industry standard.

    If you have the Apple extended warranty it give you 3 yrs of Free Phone support.

    Nothing is ever free, per se. It is instead included with the sales price. You are buying the service in advance.

    Just a neurotic pet peeve of mine forces me to chime in. LOL

    that is why I always go to the forums first... and then try to go to the mfg if needed....

    Forums are a wealth of information ...
