Wow, that is amazing. Once again proof of Apple's superiority in just about everything over Windows... Thanks for that little "biscuit" of information. And yea, I had to say biscuit, I couldn't think of anything else.

EDIT: Sadly, I haven't been with Apple since 1989 haha...

Lol, so does my 8-bit NES. Still works like a charm.

Ahhh, the good ole' days when things were simple: a one button mouse, 8-bit graphics...

Mine too. My parents bought it for me in 1986. It still works great.

Firstly, that mouse only had one click, so the positioning of the micro-switch is more convenient and Secondly much of the wear and tear depends on the use, AFAIK accountants use the keyboard much more than they use a computer mouse.
But a computer mouse living 18 years is amazing nonetheless.

I miss those old gameboys, you can drop them on concrete and not even a scratch! I dropped my Nintendo DS lite on the carpet, and it cracked. :(

One of my NES's controllers still works after 18 years of being thrown across the room and stepped on. Out of 4 controllers, only one survived. Computer mice live such gentle lives, I am not impressed.

I still have one of those first-generation gameboys! Looking back, those things were huge compared to what we have today. But they were rock solid. Literally.

I remember those Gameboys and all the kids amazed by them. Last time I saw them was back in 1993 when they sold for $5 at a KMart...lol

Hopefully my MBP would last as long as those desktops..But then again, it's a laptop..

*cough cough* they're talking about hardware... MS doesn't make hardware thus saying that Apple is superior to windows (software) because a mouse lasted 18 years is well... i don't think i need to say anything else to that.

It's really not that impressive. Old mechanical mice and keyboards were tanks. They were so simplistic, there wasn't really anything there to break.

well not sure on exactly how old it was but at an old company my friend did it work at they where stumped cause they could not find one of the Novell servers they used, it was finally having issues and they needed to do some work on it. they finally find out that it was " BRICKED IN" to the wall ( they did some office construction work a while back and somehow it got sealed in to a wall ??? ). meaning that the thing was running with out reboot and no problems for longer then any computer I know of.... that is impressive!

I will get ahold of him to get the info on how long it was running.

Wow, this has to be one of the most idiotic comments I've ever seen on here.

There is nothing really impressive about this. I have a 286 in the garage that still functions flawlessly along with its original input/output devices. Big deal.

There are also tons of businesses and government agencies that to this day still employ very old hardware (think 8086/8088s) for specific tasks.
