Who has a good projector for the new 13" MBAIR that they use? What about connections and cables?

Any projector that accepts dvi, vga, or hdmi should work with the air.

Just get the appropriate mini displayport to whatever and it should work.

I wish that was true. I just got a new Macbook Air to use with my (also new) Dell MT projector. The color projected is crap, not light enough, and I've done everything (including time at the Genius Bar of my local Apple Store). The projector doesn't like the Mac, though other projectors work with it.

You bumped an otherwise dead thread to say this without giving further information such as the connection you were using, the types of cables, the settings, the calibration settings on the MBA, etc.?

Tried multiple cables (VGA and HDMI), multiple macs (air, pro), and every possible resolution setting available on both the Macs and the projector. For all, I got a dull color output that was worse than my 5-year-old VGA projector. Now I've sold my Dell projector (which I loved with my other machines) and need to find one that is portable (under 5 lbs), 2000+ lumens, WXGA or better that will work with my Macbook Air. Any suggestions are welcome.

Gotcha, but there was no chance it might have been the Dell projector's issue right?? ;) I found it interesting you took the projector to the Apple store for them to look at it with your Air. What did they do to verify the output color, turn the store lights off?
My office has a mixed environment of projector's Macbook Air's and some PC notebooks and I get equally great color amongst all the projectors whether I'm using our Air's or the PC notebooks. For the Air I'm using displayport to HDMI.

Based on your lack of rep power and limited time on the forum I'm not sure I can count on your credibility.

I was going to say I had a similar problem when first using a MBP with a projector, the colours were dark and useless. Theres an option in the Display settings to change the Colour Profile, I think I changed it to Adobe RGB or similar. Would have thought an Apple store would know this, but sounds like I had the exact same issues as you.
