Ever since I installed an extra gig of ram in my MBP the temp was averaging at 60c. I decided to install smcfancontrol and I immediately had problems with it. The apple fan control no longer works and the fan's rpm is stuck at the default levels (2000 rpm). I uninstalled smc and the problem is still persistent. I tried the smc reset but to no avail. Thinking of using the firmware restorer cd from apple or format the computer (used windows and the fans are working properly, not bound to the default rpm from smcfancontrol).
