I've been thinking about switching to Mac for awhile now, and just can't seem to decide which one to get (Macbook vs. Macbook Pro). Well, while reading up on both of them extensively, I saw a comment saying that the aluminum casing for the Macbook Pro can cause problems with wireless connectivity. I don't know that much about computers, so I don't know if this is true. Anyone here ever had problems? My only internet connection is wireless, so thats enough for me to buy a Macbook instead.

This might be true if the antenna were inside the case, but it is not. It is on the hinge, covered by rubber. I have not experienced any wireless issues. I would not worry.

I've had both a MB and MBP. Wireless connectivity is excellent with both, but FWIW, in my own experience the MB was best in this particular area. That little machine picked up every signal anywhere near it (not that I ever stole bandwidth - I have my own router LOL). If your decision will be based mainly on how well the machine is able to connect wirelessly, my suggestion is the MB.

The only problems I've seen is that sometimes in lectures someone sitting infront of you will get signal, and you wont only 3 feet away. Maybe its the room, or the setup of the wireless or whatever, but either way sometimes the MBP can be a bit wonky with wireless(atleast mine).

Once I moved 2 feet, and I could connect to a network, where if i didnt move I couldn't connect.

Though at my school everyone complains about wireless. But I don't think that wireless should be the deciding factor in getting a MBP. The only times I've had trouble with it was at school.

Its probably true that the MacBook is better, but I wouldn't worry about it at all for the MBPs either. If it was truly a problem, you'd hear a lot more about it :p.

Or actually, you might not hear a lot more about it either, because those MBP users can't connect to WiFi to rant about it, eh? :D.
