    Just thought I'd point this out to anybody thinking about getting apple care. Apple care (prices for Macbook) is $250, that gives you 2 extra years (one year comes with your laptop) of protection. Procare, which is $99 for one year, gives you guaranteed fast fixes, you can cut to the front of the line of the genius bar, and a whole lot of other stuff. So 2 years of Pro care is $50 cheaper than 2 years of apple care, and its better. Just thought I'd point that out. And its $150 cheaper if you have a MBP.

    Wow, I've never seen any mention of it at the apple website. Where can you purchase that? That sounds like a good deal. :yes:

    I don't know where you can get it :(
    There was a pamphlet about it on the genius bar today. If you go to your local apple store I'm sure you can get it there.

    ==edit==

    Here is some info on the apple site. It seems like you might only be covered in your local apple store, but thats OK with me. I think it also said on there its good for up to 3 computers?

    Hm, I never thought of that. Is there any limitation to it though? Like maybe you have to have AppleCare Protection Plan first and this is an upgrade? I don't see anything at first glance, but I haven't looked into it yet, and if this is as is, it'd be a great deal compared to AppleCare!

    lol - the catch is that pro care isn't related to your warranty.

    you can buy pro care for two years, sure. but you'll still have to pay for parts and service if your laptop breaks (after your 1 year warranty is over).

    pro care basically just bumps you to the front of the line.

    Hmm, that sucks. :( Forget it then. :( :nah:

    Just when I thought it was too good to be true, it turns out I was right.

    Yeah, pro care is an add-on to your apple care. Essentially, you pay the extra $99 to have your apple care repairs, etc. be done with first priority. It's not a cheaper alternative, it's an add-on.

    Pro Care does NOT extend your warranty for 2 years, not better, and not at all the same service.

    if you use a student discount the apple care is cheaper...$183 instead of $249.
