Any reason why a macbook pro 13/15 non retina cant use power nap with a ssd? I wondering if its a feature that can be unlocked or are there certain hardware requirements I'm not seeing? I thought it would just be a ssd/software combo to make it work.

power nap AFAIK only works on the mba and the rmbp.

There is a qualcomm chip in their boards, that appears to be one of those cellphones socs. Thus I believe that is dependent on that chip for it to work

As far as I know... it should work on many machines, but its a feature of OSX 10.8... its not readily available feature until 10.8 comes out and people start using it.
