Currently, I have a last gen white Macbook and a self-built Windows desktop and I wish to consolodate my computing into a 15" laptop, and I don't want to give up Mac OS. Therefore, I am willing to bite the bullet for a Macbook Pro.

For me, I am waiting for two things to happen. The next significant all-around hardware update (not just a processor bump) and the release of Snow Leopard. From what I speculate, the March 24th day that I keep hear about is alittle bit more that 5 months since the unibodies were released? Please correct me if I am wrong, but 6 to 8 months is about cycle at which Apple releases significant hardware updates.

So, all in all, what have you heard? When should I expect the two above mentioned things to happen?

Also, when does the academic "free ipod with Mac" thing usually kick in?
