So, I have a mid 2011 Macbook air 13 with broken display. I'm looking for a way to fix this myself as I have prior experience with replacing laptop displays.

My question is that is it even possible to replace the display of the Macbook air's with 1440x900 displays? I'm talking about only replacing the display panel not the whole display assembly.

I found this video from youtube How to Replace the Macbook Air LCD Display and Hinges - YouTube I think it's not the mid 2011 model but do you guys think that the prosedure would be the same?

My second question is that can I replace the mid 2011 macbook air's 1440x900 display with 1280x800 display or do I have to look for 1440x900 displays? Would this one work Electronics, Cars, Fashion, Collectibles, Coupons and More Online Shopping | eBay Or do it have to be something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LG-PHILIPS...item19d4d53f6e?

    All help is appreciated

Yes, the procedure is the same. But it is recommended to get an identical display hardware.

Yep, it's just that 1440x900 displays costs about 3x more than 1280x800 displays so I'm wondering if I could fit one 1280x800 display to my mid 2011 macbook air. Do you think that connectors would match between these displays? Pre late 2010 macbook airs use 1280x800 displays I think.
