    Possibly dumb Time Machine question

    If I back up my drive using Time Machine and then reformat my disk, I'll still be able to access my files through Time Machine once I get OS up and running again, correct?

    You could even restore your entire system, or individual portions, from Time Machine during the OS installation if you wanted to.

    unless the internal drive decides to fail on you in a hurry as a couple of mine have, its easy so backup your backup if its important.
