Is there anything out there for virtual resolutions on Mac? Running 10.8.2 on the Air in the signature. All my PC computers have at least 1920x1080 (one is 2560x1440) so when I remote in I get a small window. Also its kinda sluggish compared to RDC on PC even if I have both computers connected at gigabit (I have the thunderbolt adapter).

The air replaces my ipad which I never got much use of other than giving it to the baby to watch videos. This seems more functional especially considering I'm expected to support OSX from time to time and need something to learn on.

RDP is a proprietary high performance protocol optimized for Windows that uses a lot of intelligent design features to minimize the amount of data that needs to be transferred over your network.

VNC uses the RFB protocol. RFB is an extremely simple protocol that requires a lot of high performance hardware to function. I can't troubleshoot your performance issue, but that probably has something to do with it.

masterchef gave a very good explanation. I have been in your situation and have had the same problem. I use ITap Mobile instead of RDP for Mac which Windows provides. It pans out to a full screen mode without stretching and does a decent job compared to other clients.
