I went to Apple store and grabbed a Macbook Pro. First mac for me (yes I know not penryn, but not my main computer) and I love it so far. Cant wait to do more exploring and have some fun with it.

I also got a sweet education discount, and a discount on the 3 year apple plan which saved me 310 bucks in all. Not bad.

I was out the door for 2100.

Glad to be a MAC PRO OWNER!

No anti-virus here, just using the OSX's built-in firewall which you can find under "Security" in System Preferences. I have also heard good things about "little snitch" for those who are extra paranoid. :)

    Congrats on the MBP!

For the firewall/anti-virus program on Mac OSX... not needed. The only time you'll need one is if you load Windows on it (either virtually or through Boot Camp).

OS X has a firewall (although im not sure if it even does anything lol), but anti-virus's are not needed for a Mac, as there are no virus's (yet).

Oh, right. Mac OSX does have a firewall which I do have active. I just don't have an Anti-Virus program on it as there isn't a real need for it. As long as you don't visit questionable web sites there isn't a real threat at all.

Assuming you mean Apple products: MacPro and a MBP. Actually, I prefer the MB, though (I like the smaller size and the great white finish). I don't really have a need for the power in the MBP, but had several aggravating issues with a MB and its replacement. Switched to the MBP in self-defense! [IMG]

Sam, I'm kidding, so just a reminder: You may not ban users for joking about MacBooks . . . I hope! [IMG] :D

iLife is iMovie, iDVD, GarageBand, iPhoto, etc. And it comes pre-installed on all Macs.

I love the IWEB too...very cool. I have a website I USED to run in dreamweaver (family site) and I cant wait to remake it. Does the .mac entitle me to a REAL domain name?
