Hey guys, I know that the sony ericson can be used as a blue tooth remote...

are there other phones available to be used as remote? Or is there any type of API for developing that?

I'm looking at turning my Motorola e815 into a remove for different programs.

My guess it most bluetooth phones have a program that some phone software company created to turn the phone into a remote. There are way too many developers out there.

Nope, at least the SE app is indeed Bluetooth based. Don't know about your 6708, I am not familiar with that model, but there is a version fthat works with Nokia Symbian based phones that is BT based as well.

::EDIT:: Here is one of them: http://www.salling.com/Clicker/mac/
There are windows versions as well.

Aye, I took a look at the salling software, not compatable with my phone.
I haven't been able to pull up anything relavant to using my phone as a remote on google.
I'll have to dig deeper when i have time too. I love my little remote, but I'd rather leave that at home just in case.

Heh.. well, I may have to do some R&D next year for some independant study credit.
But yeah, I'm still stunned by how well bluetooth works... wait, that it actually works in OS X.
