Noob question here; how is Perian different to Flip4Mac? Does one need both or is one the complete package for QTime?

    Main page states that
So it doesn't play real media nor does it play WMVs like flip4mac does.

SWEEEEEET! I can now kiss VLC goodbye. VLC has done nothing but crash and give me silly errors, and render subtitles incorrectly all the time. All my x264 encoded mkvs now work correctly in Quicktime. Rejoice.

Strange, VLC is usually rock solid for me. Perian is great. I have all my xVid/DivX encoded BBC shows and what now organized nicely in front row.
