I just double-clicked a .xls document on MacOSX and despite having iWork installed it resirted to opening up Microsoft Excel in Parallels. Annoying!
Now i know i can go and change what application opens up .xls docs permanently, but there must be a way to disable and completely prevent this action happening with any document on OSX.
Basically, i never ever want OSX to even consider opening Parallels to open a document. Does anyone know where that setting could be?

right click an .xls file (any) and go to get info. you can also press apple key + i.
find Open with, change it to iWorks or whatever you want to open it with and then click Change all. -
Thanks but i'd like to disable any and all programs from opening through parallels. Like i said i could do it with each file format individually but thats laborious.
So if anyone knows of a way to tell Parallels to only open when i specifically click on it that would be great -
I havent used parallels in awhile, but there was some option in there to enable or disable allowing this exact thing...
