    Arghhhhhh.

I just made the long-coveted switch to the Mac world and I ended up getting the 13" white macbook just this past Sunday.

Long story short, I had to fill out a questionnaire for something, pen had spilled some ink into my hand, unknowingly, and I went back to my computer to finish typing up this report, took my hand off and then BLAMMO, blue ink stain.

I did a search and saw recommendations of toothpaste and isopropyl alcohol. Would these be good to try out or are there other remedies you guys can teach me?

    Thanks!

Try Mr. Clean Magic Eraser - that thing works wonders with palmrest problems.

Agreed, I used the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (~$3 for a pack of 2) and it worked wonders on an old White Macbook my sister had before she sold it to a friend. The white macbook had palmrest stains etc. and the Magic Eraser took them right off.

    Thanks for the replies x].

Actually, my girlfriend recommended trying an regular eraser at the same time I was reading a forum thread about using an eraser, and it worked!

I'll keep the Magic Eraser in mind for future reference though!

Would this Mr. Clean Magic Eraser work on a normal notebook of black finish? I have some bad palmrest stains on my Clevo m860tu.

Should be ok, it's not ultra abrasive. Test it on a small patch on the back of the notebook first (like a tiny square). Then if it works without scratching, use on the front.

    But yeah, should be fine.

    LOL.

I was very interested when it started taking the stain away.

But I should mention that it wasn't a very prominent blue ink stain, but it wasn't light either. I also started rubbing at it (due to panicking...=P) and it got lighter. So by the time I started using the eraser, the ink stain had already been lightened up.

I should also mention that this was ink that I got on my palm and it got onto the palmrest, not your normal staining for your palm. LOL. I don't want people to think that it the regular eraser could remove the regular palm staining.

I find regular eraser work better than the "magic eraser" on stains.
