I need a second HD in my MBP, but i have a 7k200's laying around with a sata interface, and a few sas drives... And the mce optibay has a ide connector on it, and costs $100! with no drive...

Can someone take a pic of the connector on the laptop or the drive for me so i can confirm my suspicion of a easily modifiable solution that would cost $32 + 30 mins and have a sata port!

Id rather not open my brand new laptop again, but i guess ill have sometime anyways...

Wait a second, you are planning on modifying the connection for your optical drive, but don't want to open your notebook?? Anyway, check out ifixit.com they may have the pictures you are looking for.

    Haha... yes...

I opened my last one 20 some times, and it really started to show some serious wear on the screws, so im trying to keep my new one nice and clean...
