    Hey everyone,

I posted my acer 5102wlmi for sale in a local paper, and said $850obo. I know this amount was really high but i just wanted to see what i could get for it. Anyways the whole reason for me selling it was to get more money for a macbook, and i said that in my ad. A guy e-mailed me and said he had a 2.0ghz macbook with upgraded 2gb of ram and a upgraded 120GB HD. Also he was going to give an external 100GB HD along with it. It is in very good condition since i have seen it in pictures he sent me. I offered him my laptop and $350. I just want some opinions on if this is a good deal or what not. I mean this seems to good to be true for some reason.

I'm assuming those are all in CAD dollars? So a total of $1100-1200 CAD, and for that, you get a (black?) macbook and an external HD, correct?
Hmmm, how old is the macbook? When does the warranty expire?
Whatever you do, be careful. Try to get his laptop first, test it, and then pay him. Make sure you test it and take it for a run for 5-10 minutes.
Also, you can get a refurbished/refreshed macbook for about the same price, but plus tax and minus the HD.
I wonder why he wants to get rid of his macbook for anothe rlaptop..? Just be careful.

If his macbook is in good condition and is not one of the earlier core duo models, it is an ok deal. I wouldve offered him your acer and maybe $150, $200 max.

Be really careful, he may just want to get rid of it because it is causing him lots of problems.

As others have said, be careful of when it was made. In Canadian dollars its a decent deal, as long as his is still within warranty and runs well.

I don't think he would try and rip me off. He only lives like 5 km away from where i live. So if he does, I can go to his house and smack him in the face :D

The reason he wants to get rid of it was because he tried to switch to mac OS and didn't like it.... So i'm going to try and jump on this oppurtunity. Especially since my laptop is dropping in price like none other.

Never suggested that. Just saying to be cautious. It never hurts.
