I use spaces a lot but what annoys me is that I can't open a new firefox or finder window in spaces. For example, if space #1 has firefox opened and then I switch to the empty space #2 and try to open firefox by clicking on its icon in the dock, it will take me back to the firefox page open on space #1.

So how can I open a new firefox page on space #2 without having to have it opened in space #1 and then dragged to space #2?

Have Firefox in focus, than go to File/New Window. That will open two instances of Firefox. Than you can drag/drop Firefox window 2 into whatever other space you desire.

Edit: Spaces is rather limited, as is Stacks, so it'll be awhile before they perform optimally.
