This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    More specifically, I am trying to convert flv to mp3, but I of course want as many conversion options as possible.

    Pretty tough to find free decent conversion apps under OS X. Best (free) bet is to perform these conversion under a Windows environment .

    You can use Handbrake ( http://handbrake.fr/) to convert flv to other video formats in OS X. You can then extract the audio from the resulting video format using Handbrake again, or Quicktime Pro.

    yeah.. this is easy to do in OSX.. there is no need to run Windows for that... Handbrake does work really well
