I've only got one more week before I get to head on down to my campus bookstore and pickup my Macbook Pro! I had them hold it until August 3rd because that is my state's tax-free holiday weekend on school supplies, computers, clothes, etc. I had them hold their last 2.2ghz Model and I'll be picking it up for 1779 flat! I actually had a Macbook for a few months, but when the Santa Rosa update came around with the LED screens, I knew it was time to step up and so I've been Mac-less for a few months now. Anyway, I've been prepping myself for the moment and I've ordered some accessories for it- a Moshi Palmguard, Radtech Screen cleaning cloth and a Speck Seethru case. Any other suggestions or any thing I should know about the new Macbook Pros?

Since you are a student like me, a good set of headphones - look up cnet for the SuperFi 3 Studio in-ear headphones...

good deal, I must however recommend against the Speck case, while you may like the looks of it, I am not really a fan, It really cannot be good for the cooling of the machine, while it may not necessarily have any negative effects, the MBP case works basically like a large heatsink, a plastic casing will keep that from working as efficiently as it can.

Well, Apple has a student discount of $200 on the MBPs - so the lowest model comes in at 1799
Also, they are giving a $200 mail-in rebate for an iPod (students only + $100 mail-in rebate for a printer (students can take advantage of both simultaneously)

THe state only matters for the tax - which comes aroud to about $175 in NM
If you live in a state with no apple store, you don't get charged (state) tax. Also, if you are not a student and in a state with an Apple Store, then you should look at hte prices of an online-only retailer (Eg: New Egg) - it'll save you some dough...

    Hope that Helps
