    I keep getting the following message: "You cannot install Office 2008 12.1.3 Update on this volume. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume."

    I even tried the direct download. Still no go. Any suggestions?

    But 12.1.3 is hardly new; I did the update last week. Or maybe the one before that.

    RogueMonk, you might actually have updated already.

    Happened on me because I tried to skip an update by using direct link.
    Try the "Check For Updates" under "Help" and it solved my problem.

    Roguemonk, I updated from 12.1.2 and had no problem at all. Which version do you have now ?
