I've been searching for an answer to this, but I can't find one...maybe someone here knows what's up:

So, I use Mail when in Mac OS to check my school email. It's on an Exchange server (I assume that I'm just getting the mail through IMAP rather than actual Exchange support), and the mail comes in just fine, shows me the subject and sender, time received, etc.

The problem occurs when I click on a message to read it. For some reason, the email displayed isn't the one that I click on - instead of reading an email from today about, say, Davidson basketball in the NCAA tournament (GO WILDCATS!), I read an old email from early 2007 from my Dad. Almost all of my more recent emails have this issue - linking to incorrect messages.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on? I'll try to edit this with some screenshots soon.

If your using IMAP, you could try out another mail client to see if the problem occurs again. Just to be sure whether it is your client (highly probable but to be on the safe side)...

Good idea - I know Entourage works fine, but that's got Exchange support, so it wouldn't be using IMAP. I'll try using Thunderbird or something.

Well the Gods of Computing have smiled upon me, and now Mail works just fine. Maybe the threat of having using a different email program whipped it back into shape...

So for those that run into this problem, my advice is: restart!
