So I thought that I'd install bootcamp on Windows XP, since I'm running boot camp.

Well ... I install Oblivion, then install the patch. Then when I go to tweak video files it hangs, stutters, then reboots my Mac everytime.

Does this happen to anyone else? Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas, Half Life 2, Counter Strike Source, and Far Cry all seem to run fine ... except for this game.

    Any suggestions?

Are you running the Boot Camp ATI drivers, or Omega drivers or something else?

I'm running the drivers that came with the boot camp 1.1.2 beta, the most recent one. Also, I'm running Windows XP Pro, SP2.

Every so often, but very randomly, this happens to me when playing Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour multiplayer. I can't remember it happening when playing any other game so far, but I don't normally play very state-of-the-art games either, so.

I'm running the included graphics drivers also. Downloaded the Omega drivers but haven't tried them yet, since a patch and some tweaking to the settings in Zero Hour made it happen less - but it still does occur sometimes, so I might just try the drivers.

Yeah, I had the ambitions to run Oblivion on there ... as I guess that my Mac just doesn't like it. Oh well, there's plenty of other games to throw on there.

Well for some reason Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas and Far Cry were having issues with my Logitech mouse today ... the mouse would work fine in the menus, but not in game.

I'm just gonna wait until the Leopard to do this boot camp thing, there's too many bugs for me to feel safe running it. I can tell you this, after repairing the partition and wiping Windows off of here, I feel much safer.

Fair enough. I'd still give it a try with the Omega Drivers though.... I know I've read of other people running Oblivion under Windows using Boot Camp, so it should be possible.
