    Hi guys,
I am running Windows XP on my mac via Fusion. If I download files in Windows XP, can I access those files in OSX?

Fusion should have sharing options available right within the program to allow for this.

You could also setup a shared folder in your XP installation which would be accessible from your Mac.

From the VMware Fusion menu bar => Virtual Machine => Shared Folders => Add Shared Folder... then map it in Windows.

IF you have fusion running off of bootcamp you can get a program called paragon ntfs which will let you look at all your windows files from osx without having to run fusion .

Yes I have Fusion and throw files back and forth all of the time. Use Steve's directions above and it works like a charm.

I've found this creates issues - Paragon when installed interferes with many legitimate network file operations in OS X. I know why it does it, but I'd rather it didn;t do it altogether. Is anyone aware of an alternative which doesn't do this?

you dont have to map anything... You can open Explorer in Windows and grab a file and drag and drop it into Finder and it copies over just fine... and the other way too...
