I have a quick question regarding the firewall in Mac OSX and running either Parallels/Fusion VM's. I'm thinking that all network traffic first goes through the Mac OSX firewall before any virtual machine(s) get the traffic, right? If so, then would you recommend that I only need an Anti-Virus application on the Windows virtual machine?

Well, a lot of viruses get through the OS X firewall but the thing is those viruses were written for Windows and the same virus code does not work in OS X. So yes, only the Firewall will be necessary on the OS X side while you have antivirus on the Windows virtual machine.
