    Hey Apple fans (and non-fans!),

Just put an SSD into my Macbook Pro 13" 2010 Unibody, a Vertex 2. I'm wondering what tips people have for things that I should be doing in OS X for this SSD.

Specifically, how to turn on noatime properly so that I can get rid of the last accessed stamp being applied on my files, as I heard this is unnecessary writes on the SSD.

I've googled how to do this and even though I've followed every guide I've found to the T, I can't seem to get it to work; when I check the partition status in Terminal afterwards, it's still not enabled.

Running the latest version of OS X, obviously. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    No tweaks needed.

Even disabling the last access timestamp from files isn't needed?
