doubt it. that would kill the cooling system in the MBP.

Yea it would be pretty nice if we could get it ported over the laptops.

And it wouldnt kill the cooling system, atleast the MBP would probably be perfectly fine with some OC, just not nothing major.

Just wondering, does anyone know if its just a driver level thing (like it only works in OSX), or would it work in windows too?

Really, what's the point in overclocking a laptop? The performance gains are minimal compared to the potential risk of hardware damage. It's just not worth it!

the macbook pro can afford some overclocking.

the risk / benefit ratio is a completely subjective measurement.

    Couldn't agree more.

Also the newer chips Offer great potential. If you surf the Clevo/Sager forums a gentlemen over there, made an app to OC newer chips. I think he has a t9500 running stable at 3.1 ghz, with minimal increase in heat output. Yes I know they have a completely different cooling system, but there certainly is room for the MBP to boost it a little.

If you can overclock you should be able to underclock too. I see some benefits in that.

That would be sweet. Any link on how to achieve under-clocking? I could certainly use an extra 1/2 hour to hour of juice...

Well, lucky me. I have one of those Mac Pro machines that this puppy runs on.

I'll try overclocking my box this afternoon ;)
