Well I have noticed that if I use expose to get to my dash board, all the widgets fade in perfectly, with no lag or stutter. However if I click the dash board icon in my dock, there is a slight stutter when they are fading into the screen. I'm using Leopard, is this normal? Should I be conscerned about spyware slowing down my Mac? I know it's probably unlikely, but I'm also a very unlucky guy (Canon Rebel XTi splashed by dolphins, Wii GPU heat damaged, and wobbly macbook pro to name a few unlucky things, it's like I'm cursed).

Wow, you are unlucky! Splashed by dolphins?

Anyways, I was just trying out Dashboard on Tiger to see if I get the same, and I'm not getting any stutter either way. How much RAM do you have?

I have 2GB, with 6 widgets. What's odd is it only happens when I open it from the dock, and not expose.

TIP: Don't get too close to fast swimming dophins with a $1000 camera, it's an accident waiting to happen :)

That's weird. 2 GB and that little amount of widgets should not have any stutter. Well, I can't help you any further, as I don't have Leopard myself :p. Good luck! The other members can help you :).

Hmm I guess Leopard still has a few issues to be hammered out, but it's still a very new OS so it's to be expected. And for the short time I had Tiger, I opened it from the Dock and didn't experience a stutter, but I could not remember if the stutter started recently, or just after I got Leopard on it.
